Breathing Air Testing

Breathing Air Purity is essential for your employees' health, and could cost you money! Tecforce has the solution!

WHAT IS BREATHING AIR?

Breathing Air is the air that passes from your compressor through filters to an air fed mask (e.g. in Spray Booths). If this air is not pure, your employees could be seriously damaging their health, and you could be legally liable.

WHY SHOULD BREATHING AIR BE TESTED?

The monitoring of Breathing Air Purity is required to BS4275 : 1997 Annex C (Table C1) under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations 1999 Regulation 9. All engineering controls must be periodically tested

HOW IS IT TESTED?

The air is measured at source i.e. either where the tube enters the mask, or where the air tube enters the oil bath filter. The air is passed through detector tubes to check for harmful elements or substances.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE IN THE TEST?

The test will measure for:

  • Carbon Monoxide
  • Carbon Dioxide
  • Oil Mist
  • Water

WHO CAN CARRY OUT THESE TESTS?

Tecforce's experienced environmental technicians can carry out all of your Breathing Air Purity tests, ensuring the health of your employees. For each test that we undertake we will produce a technical report that is clear, easily read and understood.
